Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Options

Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Options: The investor and family can immediately obtain their passports once their application is approved and the documents are valid for an initial period of five years with the possibility to renew indefinitely. It is not required to permanently reside in the country. Deprivation of citizenship may occur if the citizen does not spend at least 5 days in Montenegro during the period of five calendar years after having obtained citizenship and they will not be entitled to repayment of any investment, contribution or purchase price made by them in their original application for citizenship. Furthermore, deprivation of citizenship will occur where such registration as a citizen was obtained by false representation or fraud or wilful concealment of material facts or the person has been convicted in Montenegro of an act of treason or sedition.

1. Contribution to the Government Fund:

Applicants for the Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Program must make a non-refundable donation to the Government Fund, with minimum contributions starting at EUR 150,000. Families of up to four people also need only contribute EUR 200,000.

Schedule of Fees for single applicant:

  • 150,000 EUR = Contribution

Schedule of Fees for a family of up to 4 persons:

  • 200,000 EUR = Contribution

  • + Application Fee

Schedule of Fees for a family with more than 4 persons:

  • 200,000 EUR for main applicant, spouse and two children = Contribution
  • 50,000 EUR for each additional dependant = Contribution
  • 25,000 EUR for main applicant, spouse and youngest two dependants. Thereafter 25,000 EUR per each additional dependant = Government Fees
  • 7,500 EUR = Due Diligence
  • 4,000 EUR per dependant 18 and over = Due Diligence
  • + Application Fee

A minimum of EUR 300,000 real estate property must be purchased and invested in government-approved shares. The investment must be kept for a minimum of 5 years and might be the case that investors should pay also some additional taxes and fees.

The final option available to applicants for citizenship of Montenegro is an investment in a business that has been pre-approved by the Government. Minimum investment is 500,000 EUR.

How to apply for citizenship in Montenegro?
